Support
Email support@currentfold.com. A person reads it.
It helps to include what you were doing, what happened instead, and the version from the bottom of any Settings page — that line exists so a support conversation can tell which build you are on.
Questions that come up
How do I add a source?
Paste the address of the site itself — Currentfold looks for the feed it advertises, and checks the usual paths if it advertises none — RSS, Atom and JSON Feed all work, and a YouTube channel URL resolves to that channel’s feed. Adding the feed address directly works too, if you already have it.
Can I bring my subscriptions from another reader?
Yes — export an OPML file from the reader you are leaving and import it. A new account offers OPML import on its first screen; afterwards it is in Settings → Subscriptions & data, which also exports your subscriptions back to OPML whenever you want them.
How do I save something that isn’t in a feed?
Three ways into the same queue: Save to Currentfold in the iPhone share sheet, the bookmarklet you drag to your desktop browser’s bar from Settings, or the paste field at the top of Read later. Currentfold fetches a readable copy; Open original is always there.
Why is an article still unread after I scrolled past it?
Because that is the design. Articles become read when you open them or when you mark a batch read — scrolling never changes read state. Older articles leave the unread list on their own after your auto-read window, which defaults to 30 days and can be set per source.
A source stopped updating.
Manage feeds shows each source’s last fetch, its last error, and how many attempts have failed in a row. A source that fetches successfully but has published nothing for months is flagged quiet — usually the site moved its feed. You can point it at the new address, or pause it and keep everything it already delivered.
Is there an iPhone app?
There is, and it reads the same account. It is not on the App Store yet.
Can I use my own reader app?
Yes. Currentfold speaks the Google Reader-compatible protocol at
https://app.currentfold.com/api/greader. Create an app password for the
client in Settings → Account; you can revoke it there
too.
How do I get my data out?
Settings → Subscriptions & data → Download JSON backup. It contains your preferences, subscriptions, articles, reading state, saved pages, labels, rules, highlights and digest schedule. The same page restores one.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → delete. It asks for your email address, the word DELETE, and your password, then removes your reader data. You do not have to email anyone, and there is no waiting period. What that removes is described in the privacy policy.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
The Google Reader ones. Press ? in the reader for the full
list.
